Hello we're Fortnight In Florida – a down-tempo synth pop trio from London, UK.

Picture this: a dreary, rain-soaked Tuesday, a drum kit barely hanging together, speakers crackling like they're about to give out, and a floor that’s seen way too many spills. We were there, caught up in the chaos, surrounded by bands that didn’t quite fit together, pushed by a promoter who didn’t seem to care, and scrambling to sell overpriced tickets on promises that felt a bit too far-fetched.

But there’s something about the London music scene – gritty, crowded, under appreciated, but full of untapped talent. Then, the magic happened.

Gallop counted us in – 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4...

And the drums shuffled into the intro of ‘I Can’t Wait Forever,’ and suddenly, all that heavy, grey energy just melted away. We were free. No more worrying about what was expected – And for the next 30 minutes, we can be ourselves, not who others expect us to be.

Or so we thought…

At this stage, we had grown a small but loyal following within the music scene. Many of whom had turned up to see us play tonight. But there was a thick grey cloud slowly suffocating the ambience of the room.

On the dance floor, a city banker's ragged dominance loomed.

His aura alone kept revellers at bay, his gaze—red and wild—darting, fixing us in his sights. Soon his jeers and 'boo's' sliced through our set, his bitterness crescendoing.

It was beyond distraction, a poignant signal of how zest for life's flame can flicker out.

A spectre of lost ambition, he aimed his pain our way, and we, unwilling muses to his misery. But from that dissonance, our epiphany emerged.

We emerged transformed, resolved to reforge. No more cumbersome gear to hold us back—we shed laptops, unsnarled wires, and embraced our creative core. Our performances became our own crafted odysseys, surrounded by artists who inspired and a community we cherished.

Fortnight In Florida has become more than just music. It's a place to escape – a little piece of Miami in the heart of London. It’s the dream of sandy beaches, endless orange kissed sunsets, and dancing on the shore. For us, Florida is the dream, standing in sharp contrast to the gritty, fast-paced city vibe.

Our sound, our harmonies – they’re a space for freedom. It’s not just about the music; it’s about creating a place for shared experiences, for real connection. It’s a conversation between us and you, our audience, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Looking back on that night, we realised we had to keep moving forward, keep evolving. And now, we’re ready to turn the page and start a new chapter.
